Job Description:

This role is responsible for accurate posting, reconciliation and application of customer payments within the Cash Application Department supporting the Commercial Services Operations function.

The ideal candidate will analyze remittance instructions and make informed decisions to ensure client and customer accounts are appropriately adjusted. They will facilitate processes and associate workflow while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.

Maintaining records or systems crucial for business operations, this position will answer inquiries and resolve issues, updating department records or systems accordingly, in alignment with service standards and business responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Service - Answer inbound communications to service accounts, fulfill requests, or address issues, determining target needs and providing resolution while maintaining a high standard of service.
  • Compose professional emails to internal and external customers.
  • Contact customers and clients via email or phone regarding missing remittance information.
  • Operational Support - Perform various operational tasks that occur during customer, vendor, and associate inquiries. Streamline the workflow for other associates within the business unit through operational activities.
  • Review payment and remittance instructions and apply to appropriate customer and client accounts and invoices.
  • Identify and reconcile payment differences, post short/over payments, deductions, on account and partial payments and appropriately code all reconciling transactions.
  • Research online history for payments of missing invoices and prior chargebacks and post applicable transactions.
  • Utilize Excel spreadsheets to assist with cash reconciliation and to support transactions.
