Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to join our award-winning team as a Nursing Care Coordinator. This role involves providing direct nursing care to residents in a 24-hour operation and delegating and supervising the care provided by nursing assistants. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationships with staff and residents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily supervision and leadership to assigned staff and directly provide nursing care to residents as assigned.
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living, family/social activities, and actively promote an independent lifestyle for residents.
  • Initiate the individual plan of care based on health care goals, physicians' orders, and nursing assessments.
  • Assist residents in and out of bed or wheelchair with proper transfer equipment.
  • Record vital signs, nourishment logs, and other patient records as necessary.
  • Ensure that the unit and resident room areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner for resident comfort and convenience.
  • Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
  • Respond to all call lights promptly.
  • Assist in assuring the maximum quality of life for all residents by maintaining privacy, accommodating individual preferences, promoting independence, encouraging and assisting participation in facility activities and events, and communicating respectfully at all times.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A current State of Texas license as a Registered Nurse.
  • The ability to communicate in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Capability of functioning independently, flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively.
  • A valid driver's license, automobile insurance coverage, and access to an automobile.
  • The ability to push a minimum of 200 lbs and push such weight a minimum distance of 200 ft.
