Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Program Director to lead our Social Development Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and administering residential living, recreational, and counseling programs that promote student independence and employability.

 

About the Role

The Strategic Program Director will oversee the development and implementation of programs that cater to the diverse needs of our students. You will work closely with staff to ensure effective communication, supervision, and accountability in all aspects of program delivery.

 

Responsibilities

  • Program Planning and Development: Direct and plan for the Social Development Department's needs, securing facilities, materials, and staff to administer residential living, recreational, and counseling programs effectively.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Ensure supervision in all student living areas, maintaining visibility, safety, security, and accountability at all times.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Develop a structured process for sharing information, ensuring effective communication and student accountability.
  • Staff Management: Interview, select, and manage staff; approve promotions, merit increases, transfers, etc., within the department. Prepare and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Plan and control budgets for departments, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Campus Operations: Coordinate building and other physical needs necessary to accomplish the function of the Social Development Program.
  • Safety and Compliance: Participate/attend the Center's Monthly Safety meeting and ensure PRH compliance.
  • Team Building and Development: Provide teambuilding opportunities for Social Development Staff and develop a planned orientation program for new hires.
  • Placement Support: Assist students with resume development, job search strategies, and utilize Labor Market Information (LMI) and other resources to develop placement support efforts tailored to meet the needs and qualifications of each individual student.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in counseling, social services, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years' broad-based professional Job Corps experience or similar training program, one of which was in a supervisory capacity.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in counseling, social services, or psychology. Five years' experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity in the field of education and/or vocational training, social services, or rehabilitation.

Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of counseling, recreational, and residential programs. Specific training in sociology, psychology, or management preferred. Physical and mental toughness to withstand long hours required. Ability to communicate effectively, establish rapport, and relate effectively with students and staff. Ability to direct and inspire both professional and paraprofessional personnel.

 

Compensation Details

The estimated salary for this position is $84,736 - $92,593 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
