Geisinger Job Title: Lead Kitchen Operations Specialist

Job Summary

The Lead Kitchen Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of food in our kitchen. This individual will oversee the activities of all cooks, ensuring that high-quality meals are prepared efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepares breakfast, lunch, and dinner foods using standardized recipes and methods of preparation
* Responsible for cook, food bank, and kitchen duties as assigned
* Ensures that all production is wrapped, dated, and labeled
* Follows food production schedules
* Documents preparation and usage of food according to established standards
* Informs leadership about quality issues
* Responds positively to customer needs
* Ensures adherence to HACCP standards at all times
* Monitors and checks daily duties of assigned cooks
* Helps ensure equipment is in working condition and places work orders
* Maintains quality, safety, and sanitation standards
* Works cooperatively with other personnel to accomplish departmental objectives in accordance with hospital policy
* Responsible for monitoring food preparation to minimize waste
* Estimates food requirements and controls serving portions to eliminate waste and leftovers
* Standardizes and develops new recipes
* Instructs, oversees, and delegates duties to cooks as required
* Fills in for supervisor as needed
* Makes menu changes, consulting with leadership
* Completes all required in-services according to established standards
* May perform opening and closing duties of the department

Salary Range:

$55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
