The State of South Carolina seeks a skilled Technical Nuclear Instructor to join our team in Bamberg County. As a key member of our instructional staff, you will be responsible for teaching theoretical and laboratory nuclear engineering technology courses.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains course documentation, reviews and selects textbooks, and organizes audio-visual materials for courses taught through various mediums.
  • Provides students with timely syllabi, grading/attendance policies, and relevant information, relating practical examples and illustrations, and pacing instruction over the semester.
  • Maintains required office hours, publicizes availability, refers students to other persons for assistance, and meets with students in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates weekend and summer events, orders supplies for curriculum, manages program budgets, and participates in conducting student evaluations of courses taught.
Requirements

To be successful as a Technical Nuclear Instructor, you must possess a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering/Technology, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline, or a Bachelor's degree in a technical field with two years of teaching and/or industrial experience in Engineering or Technology, or an Associate degree with four years of teaching and/or industrial experience in Engineering or Technology.

You should have knowledge of subject matter being taught, valid teaching credentials, and the ability to motivate students. Strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work well with students and colleagues are essential.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan options, and paid vacation and sick leave.
