Mohave Community College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registrar to join our team. As a key member of our administrative staff, you will play a critical role in shaping the academic experience of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and direct the registration, admissions, and student records functions, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Establish, monitor, evaluate, and improve processes and procedures to ensure alignment with the College's mission, vision, and values.
- Develop and administer policies and procedures related to student record keeping, ensuring the security and confidentiality of student records.
- Advise and ensure college policies relating to registration, admissions, and records, working with federal agencies and assisting with internal and external audits.
- Maintain student records, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of information, and monitor, add, drop, and withdrawals, and the issuing of student transcripts and other student information.
- Manage and develop the registrar staff, including hiring, training, and employee evaluation.
- Coordinate commencement activities, including maintenance of graduation files, preparation of graduation lists, degree mailings, budget, and coordination of graduation ceremonies.
- Lead the efforts for collaboration to maximize opportunities for automation and identify and implement improved scenarios and efficiencies for MCC processes and serving students.
- Ensure data integrity and timely submission of required federal and state reports, in cooperation with Financial Aid, Institutional Research, and other offices.
- Serve as the College's Veterans Services Officer (VSO) and oversee Veterans' Services, and serve as the College's Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) for international student enrollment and records.
- Coordinate with Athletics to establish and track eligibility, and evaluate and communicate the impact of potential legal or regulatory changes on the College.
- Prepare department budget, manage expenditures, and prepare funding requests, with a strong understanding of fiscal discipline and spending foresight to plan for registrar activities.
- Advise and respond to questions from college departments and external agencies regarding complex issues or policies impacting assigned programs and services.
- Serve as the College's chief FERPA Officer.
- Masters Degree and five years of progressive experience in the area of student record keeping or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

- Database - Plans and examines an application, develops a distributed application design, and automates a dialog-box form with a Macro group.
- Decision-Making & Judgment - Models the use of sound judgment and integrity to make clear, transparent decisions regarding complex and sensitive issues or materials.
- Organizational Acumen - Understands the relationship between internal climate and external environment, knows the reasoning behind key policies, practices, and procedures, and seeks exceptions when needed to achieve goals.
- Technical Proficiency - Has acquired and been awarded formal recognition for meeting the requirements of the profession, accounts for the technical difficulty and complexity of own work and that of staff, and has acquired a broad, working knowledge of local and international practices.
- Tact and Diplomacy - Understands emotional components and underlying meaning behind complex situations or issues, uses appropriate discretion in every situation, and works to build understanding with employees and colleagues.
