Senior Forensic Engineer

H2M Architects + Engineers, a multidisciplinary architectural, engineering, and environmental consulting firm, seeks a full or part-time Senior Forensic Engineer for a role in our Wall, NJ, Parsippany, NJ, or Melville, NY offices. As a lead engineer in the department, you will be responsible for conducting residential and commercial forensic investigations to analyze and determine the cause, origin, and extent of structural failures, water intrusions, roof damage, construction defects, and building system failures for insurance companies, attorneys, private homeowners, and property owners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough investigations to identify the root cause of structural failures, water intrusions, and other building system failures.
  • Develop detailed forensic engineering reports outlining the cause and origin of damage to clients.
  • Manage multiple projects and assume responsibility for project execution within required timeframes.
  • Communicate with staff and clients to provide timely project updates and timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive solutions for clients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture or a closely related discipline required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8+ years of engineering or architectural experience and at least one year of forensic engineering experience required.
  • Experience working with insurance companies and law firms preferred; deposition and expert testimony experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and field inspection skills required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and subordinates.
  • Project management and supervisory experience highly desired.
