Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the survey work on boundary, transportation, municipal, and civil engineering projects, utilizing RIEGL terrestrial laser scanners, remote control boats, and Trimble Robotic Total Stations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mathematical, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, and be able to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with a Professional Licensed Surveyor (PLS) assisting in the survey work on boundary, transportation, municipal, and civil engineering projects
  • Perform scanning projects utilizing RIEGL terrestrial laser scanners
  • Perform bathymetric surveys utilizing remote control boats
  • Perform topographic and land surveys using Trimble Robotic Total Stations, R12i GPS, and TSC7 Data Collectors
  • Perform physical tasks such as setting monuments, clearing line, etc.
  • Operate as a one-man crew
  • Understand and utilize Civil 3D and create 3D surface files and plats
Requirements
  • 2 or 4 year degree preferably in surveying
  • 0-5 years of related survey experience
  • Valid driver's license and solid driving record
Desired Skills and Experiences
  • Ability to become a Professional Licensed Surveyor (PLS) in 5 years
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Civil 3D and/or MicroStation skills
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time
  • Ability to sit, walk, reach, crouch, bend, and walk or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 30 lbs.
  • Consistent hand, finger, and arm use
  • Consistent computer screen exposure
  • Prolonged reading
