Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Packaging Operations Coordinator to join our team at BrassCraft Manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading daily production activities in multiple assembly and packaging work centers, promoting safety, quality, and efficiency efforts, and reporting directly to the shift supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to designated employees while ensuring timely completion of daily schedules.
  • Align staff and assign roles to meet daily production requirements in multiple assembly and packaging work centers.
  • Motivate employees to achieve quality, productivity, housekeeping, and safety goals.
  • Interpret schedules, backorder reports, email communications, and all-on scheduling requests for processing parts within the department.
  • Address employee issues with management and participate in resolutions.
  • Operate machinery as needed for training, relief, or performance, and perform minor maintenance on all machinery within the department.
  • Coordinate priorities for maintenance, machine changeovers, and production sequencing.
  • Communicate and interact with other departments in a team environment as required.
  • Assist with coordination of multiple shift operations.
  • Repair and build components, WIP, and finished goods as required, and assist with rework and repacking as needed.
  • Order and receive components, trays, master cartons, film, wrap, and supplies from the tool crib and warehouse as needed to complete schedules.
  • Retrieve component parts and cartons from pick locations and/or warehouse using motorized pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, and hand trucks, and perform material handling functions as needed.
  • Operate a computer-based label printing system and demonstrate computer skills and knowledge of the system, understanding planning and inventory systems.
  • Manage and report scrap within guidelines, process customer returns within the department, and report to and perform tasks as directed by the supervisor and/or department managers.
  • Assume limited supervisory duties in the absence of the supervisor.

Essential Qualifications

  • Maintain good safety practices and organizational skills.
  • Be team-oriented and work well with others.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
  • Self-directed.
  • Good attendance and work record.
  • Execute good housekeeping practices from self and employees.
  • Adhere to company safety programs and motivate employees in the area.
  • Able to perform repetitive motions with both arms and hands.
  • Ability to learn and identify finished goods, component parts, and part numbers.
  • Able to stand while performing work for extended periods.
  • Computer literacy.

  • High attention to detail.
  • Good basic math skills.
  • Good time management skills.

Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of $10.27 - $28.50 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, geographic location, and/or skills. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
