About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Project Engineer to join our team at HNTB. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality projects that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and modify design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for water resources projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers to perform research, development, calculations, design, and project delivery.
  • Utilize technical expertise to address design issues, interact with clients, and meet project schedules.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs using current tools, programs, and software.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Primary focus will include H&H work on Water Resources projects, Storm Water design of transportation projects, and assisting the H&H department by performing engineering-related tasks.
  • Assist Project Managers with management of design review process and preparation of construction documents, including reports, plans, and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Hydrology & Hydraulics basics.
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • 8 years relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Familiarity with HEC RAS, HEC HMS, HY8, Autocad/Microstation, Civil 3D, ORD.
