Tesla is seeking a highly skilled Senior Battery Production Engineer to spearhead the development and launch of manufacturing lines for cutting-edge battery products. With a focus on electric vehicles, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to work directly with the central challenge of reducing battery cost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency and product quality
  • Identify root causes of production bottlenecks, equipment malfunctions, and variability using first principles thinking
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and refine manufacturing processes
  • Manage internal and external equipment integrators from equipment development to handover
  • Install, commission, and qualify new equipment and fixtures for production implementation
  • Use data-driven insights to inform decisions and track progress
  • Create detailed documentation for equipment handover
  • Troubleshoot process capability and stability through root cause analysis and experimentation

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production data and solve technical challenges
  • Design experience with mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling in CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Multiple new equipment installations and experience developing automated manufacturing equipment
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across engineering, operations, and maintenance teams
  • 3+ years of experience in high-volume, automated manufacturing environments with a focus on battery or automotive industries
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
