Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Residential Service Plumber to join our team at Mako Industries.

As a key member of our plumbing services team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing residential plumbing systems, installing new fixtures and appliances, and ensuring compliance with local building codes.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair plumbing issues in residential settings.
  • Install, assemble, and maintain pipes and plumbing fixtures.
  • Locate and repair water line leaks, as well as remove clogs and blockages.
  • Test installed plumbing and fixtures to ensure proper function.
  • Familiarize yourself with state laws and regulations, as well as local building codes.

Key responsibilities also include installation tasks such as laying pipes, setting toilets, installing faucets, and hooking up appliances. Additionally, you will perform maintenance duties like replacing worn washers and gaskets, and repair tasks including fixing plumbing systems, disposals, faucets, gas lines, shower valves, sinks, and water heaters.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, able to communicate effectively with clients, manage their expectations, and teach preventative maintenance techniques.

Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior completion of a vocational school certificate program, associate degree, or apprenticeship is preferred.
  • A valid state plumbing license is mandatory, along with Tradesman and/or Journeyman Plumber License.
  • You must be able to read technical designs and blueprints, and possess proficiency in plumbing tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Expert knowledge in piping and ventilation systems is essential.
  • Available to work on call and respond immediately to plumbing emergencies.

Estimated salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year based on experience and location.
