At Netpace, we are seeking a highly skilled Cytogenetic Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of specimens and performing a variety of culturing procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Specimen Integrity: Assure the integrity of specimens during all phases of specimen processing.
- Culturing Procedures: Perform a variety of culturing procedures, including establishing blood, bone marrow, and biopsy cultures; monitoring growth levels, making decisions regarding feeding, subculturing, harvesting, etc.
- Slide Preparation and Staining: Perform various slide preparations and staining techniques, including standard Geisma, Q-, R-, C- banding, and NOR staining.
- Microscopic Analysis: Perform detailed microscopic analysis, assuming responsibility for ruling out chromosomal mosaicism and making decisions regarding optimal cells for documentation.
- FISH Processing and Analysis: Perform FISH processing and analysis.
- Quality Control: Manage quality control of culture apparatus, including monitoring CO2 levels in incubators, monitoring CO2 supply, periodic disinfection of incubators, periodic maintenance of hoods, and monitoring of liquid N2 levels.
- Continuing Education: Stay knowledgeable about research and development within the cytogenetics field and participate in compilation of validation data.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant experience in cytogenetics or a related field.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
