We're seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Stay At Home Nursing And Company. As a key member of our home care agency, you will provide quality care to seniors and individuals with disabilities in the comfort of their own homes.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will provide direct and individualized nursing care to assigned patients based on nursing standards. Your responsibilities will include ensuring quality and safe delivery of health care services, implementing plans of care formulated by physicians and registered nurses, and providing accurate and timely documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct and individualized nursing care to assigned patients based on nursing standards and under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and/or a Registered Nurse designee.
  • Ensures quality and safe delivery of health care services to patients/clients.
  • Implements plan of care formulated by physician and Registered Nurse.
  • Provides accurate and timely documentation consistent with plan of care.
  • Assesses and provides patient/client and family caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis and plan of care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Maintains safe and healthy working environment and uses safe work methods and procedures in accordance with company clinical standards.
  • Assists patient/client in learning appropriate self-care activities.
  • Uses equipment and supplies effectively and efficiently.
  • Documents and reports activity as required.

Requirements:

  • Licensed as a licensed practical nurse in the state of Maryland.
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nurse program.
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to utilize the telephone for internal and external communications.
  • Good knowledge of nursing assessment and observation skills.
  • Must be competent in the provision of nursing care.
  • Current CPR certification.

Physical Demands:

The work requires moderately heavy physical exertion on a regular and recurring basis such as: assisting patient in transfer activities (wheelchair, to bed, to tub, to commode) and providing substantial support to patients/clients in ambulation. Employee is required to stand; walk; stoop and must occasionally lift and/or move over 50 – 100lbs.
