About the Role

Leidos Inc is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to lead our space systems research branch in San Diego, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the development of electronics architectures for space payload systems.
  2. Be responsible for major sub-systems of space payloads.
  3. Design, develop, integrate, and test all aspects of Printed Circuit Board (PCB).
  4. Collaborate in scientific research, engineering product development, and test activities.
  5. Contribute to design reviews and present designs for review.
  6. Use judgment to perform technical troubleshooting and diagnosis of failed equipment and support root cause analysis.
  7. Perform data analysis and write technical reports.

Requirements

  1. BS with 20+ years of relevant experience or Masters with 15+ years of relevant experience or Ph.D. with 13+ years as an electrical engineer in an R&D environment.
  2. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  3. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
  4. Expert level experience with Altium Designer (preferred) or OrCAD for schematic capture and PCB layout for high-speed digital designs using large Xilinx and Microsemi FPGAs.
  5. Experience leading cross-functional R&D development teams.
  6. Well-organized, reliable, attention to detail, demonstrated personal initiative.
  7. Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated leadership of technical teams and projects.
  2. Space qualified PCB design experience.
  3. High-speed PCB design experience with knowledge of differential signals, trace length matching, and routing topologies for DDR memory is a plus.
  4. Xpedition or OrCAD Schematic Capture experience is a plus for collaboration activities.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $144,300 - $260,850 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
