Job Summary

Under the guidance of a radiologist, performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to produce high-quality images for medical interpretation. Responsible for patient care and safety while in the ultrasound department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Positions patients and selects appropriate protocols to demonstrate anatomy of interest.
  • Judges diagnostic quality of images and processes preliminary reports.
  • Documents any limitations to the sonography examination.
  • Customizes each patient exam based on accepted ultrasound principles.
  • Applies independent judgment to ensure accurate capture of anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions.
Requirements
  • High School or GED Diploma Graduate.
  • Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology or BS in Ultrasound.
  • Registry Eligible through ARDMS or ARRT.
