About the Role

The System Administrator is a key member of the global Information Technology team at Astec Industries, reporting to the IT regional Manager of Infrastructure. This critical role is responsible for managing and tuning in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications.

Key Responsibilities

* Install and configure software, hardware, and networks to ensure seamless operations
* Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime
* Ensure security and efficiency of IT infrastructure through regular maintenance and updates
* Upgrade systems with new releases and models to stay ahead of industry trends

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, and 4+ years of experience with Windows Server platforms, with a strong emphasis on Active Directory. Experience in LAN/WAN operations, solid knowledge of LAN/WAN configurations, and familiarity with Cisco routers and switches are also essential. Additionally, you should have strong background in Outlook and Exchange messaging systems, advanced hardware and software troubleshooting skills, and experience with virtualization platforms such as VMWARE and Hyper-V. Strong verbal communication skills, ability to work with little supervision, and good time management skills are also required.
