**Responsibilities:**

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing underwriting standards that prioritize profitability and maintain strong relationships with independent agents. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing underwriting strategies that drive business growth and profitability
  • Evaluating and managing commercial lines underwriting, including sales representatives, to ensure adequate submission flow and profitability
  • Collaborating with Underwriting and Actuarial teams on product line and pricing reviews
  • Establishing individual development plans for direct reports and team members
  • Maintaining a strong local presence in each of our markets and building positive agency relationships

**Requirements:**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in insurance or a related field
  • 3-7 years of commercial lines management and/or marketing experience or equivalent industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and lead others
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management
  • Analytical thinking skills with the ability to collect data and draw valid conclusions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain professional relationships with fellow workers, agency contacts, and the public

**Estimated Salary:** $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
