Job Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
  • Assisting anesthesia by running for supplies, cleaning mouth gags, re-supplying carts with supplies, and positioning patients.
  • Maintaining daily sterilizer logs, cidex logs, running chemical and biological indicators, and performing routine daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of floors, walls, room furniture, and equipment.
  • Preparing equipment and supplies for use in Perioperative areas, producing the annual inventory of O.R. equipment and supplies, and storing equipment and supplies correctly.
  • Transporting surgical specimens, blood, blood products, cultures, non-narcotic medications, supplies, and requisitions as needed, and providing comfort measures for patients by providing them with blankets and raising bed side-rails.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally, one year of experience working in a healthcare environment or patient care experience is preferred.
