As a key member of our team at Direct Orthopedic Care, the Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take initial x-rays and follow-up x-rays as directed by the provider, adhering to DOC protocols.
  • Provide a warm welcome to patients, maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Follow protocols to reduce anxiety, explain treatment, and ensure patients depart with all questions answered.
  • Lead patient flow, including rooming patients, taking vitals, setting up injections, obtaining prior authorizations, and educating patients.
  • Apply safety techniques, register patients in PACS, and transport patients between rooms.
  • Check-in patients, collect demographic information, verify insurance coverage, and collect copays.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure PHI is secure at all times, adhering to HIPAA regulations.

  • Facilitate patient flow by notifying providers and team members of patient arrival, being aware of delays, and providing continuous communication.
  • Minimize radiation exposure to patients and team members by practicing radiation protection techniques and following DOC protocols.
  • Input CPT codes in EMR.
  • Ensure operation of radiology equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions, and scheduling repairs.
  • Assist providers with patient care by documenting care in EMR and PAC technology.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, and enforcing adherence to requirements.
