Key Responsibilities:

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will operate assigned scanners to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. This role requires a patient-centered approach, providing Mammography services within professional standards and excellent customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Screen patients before exams for any precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
  • Explain and prepare patients for Mammography imaging procedures, explaining the procedure and positioning patients appropriately.
  • Perform routine and advanced Mammography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body, providing patient support throughout the procedure.
  • Adjust Mammography scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate.
  • Maintain positive relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and other associates and peers.
  • Follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to safety regulations to protect patients, coworkers, and oneself.
  • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area, promoting good safety habits for patients and coworkers.
  • Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Clean and disinfect equipment after each use.
  • Ensure compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with training of new associates, providing resource and technical expertise as applicable.

Requirements:

  • ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing.
  • Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography.
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform Mammography procedures independently.
  • Certification in imaging specialty.
  • Must have continuing CEU's in modality as required by MQSA or state specific.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual.
