About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at Saint Clare's Health, a leading provider of safe, high-quality, compassionate care in Morris, Warren, and Sussex counties.

As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in facilitating the rehabilitation of physically and mentally disabled patients through a therapeutic recreation program. Your expertise will help create an atmosphere of sociability, provide creative expression, and teach skills for recreating during hospitalization and after discharge in the community.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a therapeutic recreation program that meets the unique needs of our patients.
  • Conduct activities such as games, social activities, sports, and music to promote socialization, creativity, and skill-building.
  • Create a supportive environment that fosters positive morale and minimizes distress related to illness.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field.
  • Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or Registered Therapeutic Recreator (RTR) is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in Behavioral Healthcare, rehabilitative, or SNF settings is preferred.
