We are Sonstegard Foods Company, a leading manufacturer and wholesaler of shell eggs along with powdered, liquid and frozen egg products. Our operations span across five states in the US and our products reach domestic and international markets.

As an Animal Production Supervisor at Sonstegard Foods Company, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall care of layer birds and ensuring their well-being. This role reports to the Layer Manager and works closely with various departments to achieve production goals.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in animal production or hold a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Business, or Agriculture Management. Bi-lingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft products is also necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Assist in selecting suitable feed rations for the layer birds.
  • Maintain accurate records for weekly production reports, UEP program, and SE plan.
  • Work with the Layer Manager to ensure barns are clean and pullets are delivered on time.
  • Coordinate with the Pullet Barn Manager for timely delivery of pullets.
  • Monitor data to ensure water, air, feed, and manure are managed according to schedule.
  • Collaborate with HR for new employee selection, training, and onboarding.
  • Schedule employees and manage their tasks efficiently.
  • Be available for on-call duties during certain days and weekends to respond to alarms.
  • Collect environmental samples as needed and monitor employees for adherence to animal welfare practices.
  • Lead by example and enforce strict bio-security guidelines.
  • Work with QA Manager to ensure SQF requirements are met.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
