Company Overview
Amedisys is a leading provider of home health, hospice and high-acuity care, dedicated to helping patients and families navigate the complex healthcare system. With a focus on compassionate, patient-centered care, you would be joining a team of professionals committed to improving the lives of those they serve.
Salary
$75,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Job Description
As a registered nurse (RN) in our home health program, you will coordinate and oversee all aspects of patients' home care, collaborating with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans. You will educate families on patient condition, needs, and care, and perform head-to-toe physical assessments, checking vital signs and managing medications.
You will administer injections, IV therapy, or tube feedings, maintain catheters, and complete documentation timely and accurately. Additionally, you will supervise LPNs and HHAs, regularly communicating patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have one year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN), with current RN licensure specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work. A minimum of six months home health experience is also required, along with current CPR certification and a valid driver's license.
You must be able to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age-specific needs, and be familiar with general computer use and functions. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets and may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Benefits
Amedisys offers a full benefits package, including a choice of affordable PPO or HSA medical plans, paid time off, and up to $1,300 in free healthcare services paid by Amedisys yearly, when enrolled in an Amedisys HSA medical plan.
You will also receive up to $500 in wellness rewards for completing activities during the year, mental health support through the Amedisys Employee Assistance program, 401(k) with a company match, and family support with infertility treatment coverage and adoption reimbursement.
