Job Description

We are seeking highly skilled Wireless Communications Research Engineers to join our team. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for conducting wireless communication systems engineering research activities in support of Cyber Operations, Special Operations, and Homeland Protection Mission Areas.

You will work closely with our sponsors to develop innovative solutions for military and government challenges. Your responsibilities will include researching and developing novel approaches for solving critical communications problems using advanced signal processing, data processing, and machine learning techniques.

As a Wireless Communications Research Engineer at APL, you will have the opportunity to lead the research and development of innovative solutions to complex problems in the field of wireless communications. You will also be responsible for documenting your work in formal technical reports and presenting your findings to sponsors and the technical community.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Additionally, you should have at least one year of relevant experience in wireless communications engineering.

You should possess strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, as well as effective oral and written communication skills. The ability to work independently and travel within the continental United States is also required.

In terms of qualifications, you must be able to obtain an Interim Top Secret level security clearance by your start date and ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

Our salary range is $90,000-$220,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. We also offer generous relocation benefits and other forms of compensation for exceptional performance.
