Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist is a vital member of the surgical team, responsible for preparing and assisting with surgical procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of asepsis, sterile technique, and patient care. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

Apply principles of asepsis to provide optimal patient care
Maintain highest standards of sterile technique and correct any breaks in technique
Participate in general cleaning, stocking, and sterilization of instruments and supplies
Assist in setting up the OR with supplies and instruments
Scrub on all surgical procedures and anticipate the needs of the surgeon
Maintain accurate counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments
Act as a resource and preceptor for new personnel and students
Perform all duties in a manner consistent with safe patient care and according to policy and procedures

Requirements:

BLS course required
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, and one of the following: Military service trained as a Surgical Technologist, LPN trained as a Surgical Technologist, or successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program
CST Certification preferred

Work Environment:

This role is based in Rochester, Michigan, and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with the surgical team and maintain a positive work environment.
