About the Role:

MILLENNIUMSOFT is seeking an experienced Senior Firmware Quality Specialist to join our firmware team in San Jose, CA. This is a contract role that requires 5+ months of commitment with a possibility of extension.

About the Job:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in firmware test development and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing firmware for embedded systems in a fast-paced agile environment. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the quality and reliability of our firmware products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Update Firmware Test Application, a Windows desktop application implemented in C#
  • Create comprehensive test plans for thorough testing of firmware using internal and external test tools
  • Define firmware requirements for white-box test development, working closely with firmware team members
  • Develop new test cases for firmware feature testing
  • Oversee regression runs, including issue triaging and reporting failures to firmware stakeholders
  • Collaborate with different functional groups to resolve issues, ensure thorough testing from a business perspective, understand support issues, and release high-quality products to customers
  • Interpret product design and requirements to engineer test approach and generate test plans and test cases/scripts along with their review
  • Execute complex test cases/scripts, interpret results, and report, communicate, and work through issues with engineers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate technical subject matter to non-technical users
  • Experience in writing quality bug reports
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for reaching the root cause of customer-reported issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Intermediate-level coding experience in C# or any other object-oriented programming language
  • Minimum 3+ years' hands-on experience in firmware test development (design/develop/validate)
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux environments
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks
  • Able to do thorough analysis of test failures and skilled in problem recreation
  • Fast learner with good communication skills
  • Proactive and a strong team player

Estimated Salary: $115,000 - $140,000 per year
