Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cook I to join our culinary team at Marriott International, Inc. in Kingsport, Tennessee.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires strong communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing special meals, regulating oven temperatures, and maintaining food logs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare special meals or substitute items according to recipes and quality standards.
  2. Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters to ensure optimal cooking results.
  3. Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator as needed.
  4. Maintain accurate food logs to track inventory and preparation.
  5. Monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared to ensure consistency and excellence.
  6. Communicate effectively with colleagues during busy periods to ensure seamless service delivery.
  7. Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials and promote menu offerings to Food & Beverage service staff.
  8. Evaluate and maintain the quality of food items to meet high standards.

Requirements:

  • Technical degree in culinary arts or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • Licenses or certifications not necessary.
