Maintenance Repairman B-Shovel and Drill Mechanic

ASARCO LLC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Repairman B-Shovel and Drill Mechanic to join our team at the Ray Mine in Kearny, AZ.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanically troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing components on production electric shovels and drills, as well as other mining support equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electric shovels and drills, including routine inspections and repairs.
  • Carry out repairs on electric shovels and drills, including major component replacement and repair or rebuild.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repair on forklifts and boom equipment.
  • Maintain other pieces of equipment, such as transporters and support equipment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a college program or two to four years of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Availability to work any shift, including weekends, with rotating shifts and 24/7/365 operations.
  • Ability to work in adverse climate/temperature environments.
  • Ability to wear a respirator in conditions of fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
