">$21-$25 per hour, depending on geographic region, education, and experience.
">Job Description
">A Mental Health Support Specialist assists and supports patients through the entire treatment experience from admission to discharge. Key responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, providing milieu interventions, and supporting patients as they navigate the treatment process.
">Responsibilities
">• Facilitate daily patient needs according to program schedules.
">• Assist Nursing staff with duties as directed, including patient supervision, vital signs, room searches, and patient searches.
">• Recognize and respond to crisis situations, provide interventions as necessary.
">• Consistently report to work on time, prepared to perform position duties.
">• Deliver indirect and selected direct patient care as directed by facility leadership.
">• Conduct intake processes, search belongings and patients, complete BACs and drug screen observations as directed.
">• Monitor patient activity, document significant patient issues.
">• Record rounds, ensure patient safety as specified.
">• Conduct regular facility and grounds checks, advise facility leadership of irregularities or safety concerns.
">• Notify and report health and safety issues, significant patient concerns, and out-of-the-ordinary occurrences to facility leadership immediately.
">• Complete all documentation requirements before the end of the shift.
">• Perform basic housekeeping duties.
">• Facilitate and lead daily groups as directed if applicable.
">• Attend all staff meetings and in-service trainings.
">• Complete all online training, policy verification, and maintain up-to-date employee HR files.
">• Monitor and oversee self-administration of patient medication if applicable.
">• Provide transportation services, including patient transportation/supervision, errands, shopping, admits, outings, etc. (pre-qualified to drive company vehicles).
">Qualifications
">• High School Diploma or equivalent.
">• Valid, unrestricted State Driver's License if applicable.
">• Minimum 1 year sobriety if in recovery.
">• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, ability to document in electronic systems.
">• First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire, annual recertification.
">• De-escalation/restraint technique certification within 90 days of hire, yearly recertification.
">• Medication training within 30 days of hire if applicable.
