Job Title: Radiology Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Darien, Illinois.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the performance and documentation of all diagnostic procedures utilizing proper technical parameters to produce quality studies.
  • Positions patient, adjusts equipment, secures immobilization and support devices as needed to perform procedures.
  • Identifies each patient correctly prior to an exam procedure being performed, using two forms of identification, as indicated by the established Advocate Healthcare Time out protocol.
  • Communicates effectively using AIDET with patients before, during and after exams to assure their comfort and cooperation.
  • Responsible for database entry of appropriate exam charges, starting, completing and verifying each exam for appropriate interpretation by physician upon completion.
  • Responsible for maintaining patient privacy while obtaining patient history and any pertinent continuing discussion.
  • Adherence to proper handwashing technique at all times.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Active IEMA License
  • Minimum experience as a Radiologic Technologist, new grad accepted
  • Knowledge all areas of general diagnostic radiology
  • Understanding of positioning and technique factors as in Merrill's Directory
  • Able to perform all common radiologic procedures

Working Conditions:

  • Able to respond to requests to work on short notice
  • Flexible in starting times to meet demand
  • May require rotating shifts and alternate days
  • Willing to work overtime when requested
  • Able to periodically take call
  • As required, must be able to transport, move, and lift patients
