Job Title: Omics Scientist

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Omics Scientist to join our Integrative Omics (IO) group. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing and applying cutting-edge proteomics capabilities, particularly in the areas of post-translational modifications (PTMs), including phosphorylation, acetylation, and redox modifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and apply cutting-edge mass spectrometry (MS)-based multi-omics technologies and methods for quantifying proteins/peptides, various PTMs, metabolites, and lipids in studies of health and disease, the environment, and general systems biology.
  • Expertise in quantitative proteomics, PTMs, data science or bioinformatics will be preferred. Hands-on experiences in MS-based proteomics sample preparation, enrichment for various PTMs, liquid chromatography coupled to MS (LC-MS) analysis, tandem mass tag (TMT) labeling for sample multiplexing will also be preferred.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of staff to accomplish long-term project goals and contribute to or lead data analysis, interpretation, and identification of future directions.
  • Contribute to writing grant proposals and publish research in peer-reviewed journals.
Qualifications:
  • PhD in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, bioengineering, molecular biology, or closely related fields.
  • Extensive experience in development and applications of mass spectrometry-based protein and PTM quantification, and large-scale data analysis in biological or environmental research areas.
