At Community Housing Innovations, we are dedicated to providing quality housing and human services to support social and economic independence.

We are currently seeking a full-time Resident Support Specialist for our Wading River location. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe and structured environment for our residents and staff.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently or as part of a team, and have the ability to make sound judgments under pressure.

Salary: $41,600 per year (based on 20 hours/week at $20/hour)

Job Description:

  • Maintain visibility to residents, staff, and visitors by wearing a safety monitor vest, ID badge, and professional attire.
  • Screen all clients and visitors entering the facility.
  • Perform bag searches upon intake and as required.
  • Educate clients on facility, DSS, and OTDA policies and procedures.
  • De-escalate potential crisis situations and document all interventions.
  • Conduct rounds throughout the facility, including hallways, stairwells, floors, bathrooms, and other common areas.
  • Complete logs, incident reports, and all other required documentation.
  • Assist with room preparation and turnover for new clients.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning and office supplies and ensure proper distribution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a related field preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • Basic competency in MS Windows, MS Office, and internet usage.
