Position Title: In-House Counsel

Location: Arcadia, CA

Compensation: $100,000-$130,000

Required Expertise: Knowledge in Real Estate and Property Management Law, Unlawful Detainers, Habitability Claims, Employment Claims, and Litigation.

Our extensive portfolio across Southern California encompasses multifamily residences, office spaces, and hospitality properties. If you possess 1-3 years of litigation experience and a strong interest in real estate, this opportunity may align with your career goals.

Key Responsibilities: As In-House Counsel, you will support the General Counsel in addressing various legal matters within the department. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting legal research on diverse topics, including real estate law, employment disputes, and habitability issues.
  • Managing the Unlawful Detainer docket, engaging in discovery, participating in motion practice, and preparing for trial proceedings.
  • Representing the company in motion hearings, ex-parte hearings, and trials.
  • Facilitating pre-litigation dispute resolution processes.
  • Reviewing and revising corporate documents, including lease agreements and property management forms.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the California Bar.
  • 1-3 years of experience in litigation and trial preparation.
  • 1-3 years of experience in discovery processes, including written discovery, depositions, and third-party subpoenas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Unlawful Detainer trials is highly advantageous.
