Job DescriptionThis position involves performing a full range of welding and fabrication work in a maintenance environment, including repair, replacement, and fabrication for structural steel, mobile and fixed equipment, lock and dam infrastructure, etc.
The ideal candidate will have five years of experience welding and fabricating in a maintenance environment, with proficiency in MIG, TIG, stick, and brazing. A high school diploma or formal training in welding is required, along with the ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, organizing, and laying out fabrication and repair jobs from plans, instructions, or measurements. They will also perform welding repair and maintenance to stationary lock and dam equipment, machinery, and large hydraulic steel structures, using air arcs, burning rods, and acetylene/oxygen cutting torches.
Frequent travel, occasional overtime, and overnight stays may be required. The selected candidate must possess a valid driver's license, pass background checks, and MVR screenings, and successfully complete drug/alcohol screenings.
This role requires frequent walking and standing, lifting up to 20 pounds, climbing ladders, working at heights, and use of power tools. Occasional crawling and reaching may be required, as well as working in cramped and confined spaces.
