We are seeking a skilled Regional Development Specialist to join our team at the Northwest New Mexico Council of Governments.
About UsThe Northwest New Mexico Council of Governments (NWNMCOG) is a regional development organization that serves Cibola, McKinley, and San Juan counties. Our mission is to improve community and economy in the region through strategic planning and collaboration with local governments, businesses, and stakeholders.
Job SummaryThis role will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to member governments, as well as developing and implementing regional projects and programs. The successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, with experience in community development, planning, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical assistance to member governments on various planning and development issues.
- Develop and implement regional projects and programs, including grants and other funding opportunities.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform regional planning and decision-making.
- Assist with meeting facilitation, documentation, and follow-up activities.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as urban planning, public administration, or community development.
- At least 2 years of experience in community development, planning, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to travel frequently within the region and occasionally outside the region.
The salary for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
