Michaels is a leading creative destination in North America, operating over 1,300 stores across the US and Canada. We are seeking a highly skilled Creative Events Coordinator to join our team at our DFW-ROCKWALL, TX location.

About the Job

This role involves planning, coordinating, and facilitating events within our store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. As a Creative Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering friendly customer service, helping customers shop at our store, and ensuring all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
  • Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
  • Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
  • Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
  • Communicate events with clients and store team members.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
  • Adjust plans and events based on client's feedback and needs.
  • Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
  • Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
  • Uphold the company's cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
Requirements
  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
  • The ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others, including guests of all ages and co-workers.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Experience working with children and children's events.
  • Good communication skills, including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
  • Organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Retail and/or customer service experience required.
