Software Development Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our team as an Infrastructure Specialist. This role will be responsible for supporting the development life cycle of platform architectural design, deployment, and debugging.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will build a release pipeline to enable fast, but safe delivery of critical business software to production. They will develop and maintain sound version control best practices-based CM systems (GIT), including branching and merging strategies.

- Serve as a technical lead for an Agile team and actively participate in all Agile ceremonies.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Leverage programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Perl, C, C++, or Java.
- Fluent with Git.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Linux environments (RHEL 6/7/8, RHCSA/RHCE, CentOS).
- Experience integrating Jenkins/Bamboo, Docker, and Kubernetes for automated deployment preferred.
- Experience with caching technologies (Memcache, Active MQ, Redis, APC, etc.) Experience with MySQL (Clusters, Replication, and Tuning) and Elasticsearch (Kibana a plus) Knowledge of security practices, networking protocols, firewalls, PCI compliance, etc.
- Proficient with DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering methodologies.
- Proficient automating network infrastructure configuration using Software Defined Networking.
- Ability to have a holistic view of service development and deployment architecture.
- Understanding of SLA requirements and role of high availability architectures, performance optimization, and monitoring techniques.
- Set up and configure a continuous integration environment by leveraging Configuration Management, containerization, serverless technologies, and Kubernetes.
- Architect and develop best practices for software build tools (Gradle, Maven, ANT, Shell) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins, Bamboo), and infrastructure automation (Amazon Web Services, VMWare, Puppet, Chef, ansible, etc.).
- At least ten (10) years' experience in working in an agile development environment and managing/monitoring AWS cloud and virtualized servers while working in a PaaS environment.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field.

Compensation and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary of $180,000-$230,000 depending on experience. Our benefits package includes individual and family health, vision, and dental benefits. A minimum of four (4) weeks of paid time off including a week of sick leave. Legato gives our employees 11 federal holidays off and a 401(k) employer match with no vesting schedule.
