Auto Body Repair Technician

Job Title: Auto Body Technician
The Auto Body Technician is a key member of our team at Gerber Collision & Glass, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and delivering high-quality repairs to restore vehicles to their pre-accident condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan consistently.
- Plan and prepare cost estimates for customers, utilizing various tools to repair vehicle sections.
- Hammer out dents, dimples, and minor body damage, or mix and apply filler resins when necessary.
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove and replace damaged vehicle sections with new or aftermarket parts, and repair or replace glass and windshields as needed.
- Replace or repair interior parts, weld and attach parts into place, and prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or agreed-upon equivalent.
- Complete work orders within labor time guidelines, ensuring all work is executed correctly by inspecting vehicles after repair.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Ability to visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
