Paragon Energy Solutions LLC is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear I&C Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented engineer to play a key role in the development of nuclear power plant control, monitoring, and safety systems.

Job Description:

We are looking for a mechanical hardware design expert who can lead the development of instrumentation and control cabinets and consoles for nuclear power plants. The ideal candidate will have experience designing mechanical components, such as cabinets, consoles, brackets, enclosures, test fixtures, and other related hardware.

  • Mechanical Hardware Design: Lead the design and delivery of mechanical hardware components, including cabinets, consoles, brackets, enclosures, test fixtures, and other related hardware.
  • Requirements Definition: Define mechanical hardware requirements for new mechanical components and collaborate with system engineers and electrical hardware engineers to model the system and generate electromechanical drawings.
  • Design Documentation: Prepare and review design documentation, including mechanical hardware drawings, material evaluations, stress calculations, seismic analysis, commercial grade dedication plans, etc.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Test mechanical hardware prototypes for fit-up, analyze and document the results, and oversee the mechanical hardware vendors and contract manufacturers to ensure products meet the specified design.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a hardware design engineer or similar.
  • Experience working on nuclear safety-related I&C system development projects, including equipment qualification, commercial grade dedication, and system implementation and test, is highly desirable.
  • Experience creating drawing packages that define large, complex assemblies such as I&C cabinets with nested bills of materials is highly desirable.
  • Experience with solid modeling applications, such as SolidWorks, is required.
