The role of a Certified Surgical Technician at Avera St. Luke's Hospital is to provide exceptional care and support to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Job Summary:
  • To deliver high-quality patient care by preparing surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment on the sterile field and assisting surgeons during procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles and respond to specific patient needs.
  • Provide comprehensive care for patients across all ages, from neonates to geriatrics.
Responsibilities:
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs, providing tailored care and support.
  • Prepare and maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to hospital standards and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Post-high school graduate of a surgical technologist program.
  • Certification as a surgical technologist or eligibility to write the certification exam.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
