We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Nurse to join our team in the Main Operating Room at Ascension St. Vincent's Southside hospital in Jacksonville, FL.

About the Job

This is a full-time nursing position requiring a strong understanding of surgical procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Job Summary:

  • Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
  • Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
  • Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
  • Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
  • Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

Requirements:

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration: Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this role is $83,456 per year, based on the average salary range for a Surgical Nurse in Jacksonville, FL. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, location, and qualifications.
