We are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to lead our process optimization efforts at CivicMinds, Inc in Portage, IN. This is a full-time, direct hire position.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the management and continuous improvement of our predictive and preventive maintenance processes. This includes technical investigations and implementation of reliability-improving projects, as well as supervising the reliability engineering staff.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead by example concerning plant safety policies and initiatives, championing opportunities to engineer out equipment hazards.
  • Assist the maintenance department with reliability improvement projects and troubleshoot complex maintenance issues.
  • Lead training and preventive maintenance procedure efforts on newly commissioned and revised equipment.
  • Manage the Reliability Centered Maintenance program using a Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) and implement Preventive, Predictive, Condition Monitoring, and Run Failure maintenance techniques.
  • Evaluate baseline maintenance metrics, including PM compliance, and provide recommendations that lead to measurable bottom-line improvements in safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost.
  • Support the Engineering department with capital project development and implementation to meet completion schedules and budgets while supporting operational and maintenance needs.
  • Collect and analyze predictive maintenance data, including vibration analysis, lubricant analysis, and other predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Communicate clearly in various communication settings and styles within all levels of the organization, guiding maintenance technical crews.
Qualifications and Education Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A degree in an engineering or related field (or extensive related experience).
  • Demonstrated proficiency and technical understanding of steel process or heavy industrial equipment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance in a Steel environment or heavy industry.
  • Experience in the use of Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).
  • Training in condition diagnostic techniques, including vibration analysis, oil analysis, ultrasonic testing, and thermographic testing.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify potential problems and proactively address issues.
  • Proficiency in 2d Autocad and expert-level skills in analysis using Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience in the leadership of a reliability program.
Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
