We are seeking an experienced truck driver to join our delivery team at Huttig, a leading wholesale distributor of specialty building products and millwork.

Job Summary:

As a Local CDL A Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating a tractor trailer between 24-53 feet long, conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, securing cargo, and making product deliveries according to proper route and schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a tractor trailer in accordance with Company Policies, DOT Guidelines, and traffic laws.
  • Conduct and document pre- and post-trip inspections on truck and trailer.
  • Secure cargo on trailer and ensure product accuracy and quality.
  • Make product deliveries according to proper route and schedule as indicated on the manifest.
  • Obtain customer signatures on proof of delivery and submit to the dispatcher as required.
  • Clean and sweep truck and trailer as needed.
  • Operate and maintain a Mobile Electronic Onboard Recording device.
  • Report truck, trailer, equipment, and material problems and/or damage, accidents, and traffic violations promptly to Huttig.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Attend departmental staff and safety meetings.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 18 months verifiable interstate tractor trailer commercial driving experience within the last 3 years.
  • No more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years and no more than 3 within the past 7 years.
  • No Reckless driving; including but not limited to speeding 15 or more MPH and/or leaving the scene of an accident in the past 3 years.
  • No at-fault DOT recordable accidents in the past 3 years.
  • No Driving Under the Influence, DUI violations within the past 7 years.
  • Valid Class A CDL required.
