Social Service Supervisor

The Social Service Supervisor - Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the delivery of quality services to single adults and families in shelters, ensuring compliance with Department of Homeless Services (DHS) and NYS Office of Temporary Disability Assistance (OTDA) regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Case Managers and provide coaching, training, and staff development to enhance their skills and performance.
- Provide comprehensive case management services, including individual and group counseling, to clients in the absence of Case Managers.
- Manage the shelter's multidisciplinary team, providing crisis intervention and overseeing day-to-day case management services.
- Ensure Case Managers conduct initial needs assessments with new clients within 48 hours of arrival and develop Individualized Living Plans (ILPs).
- Provide orientation and training to Case Managers on maintaining the Uniform Client Chart.
- Collaborate with community service providers to ensure clients receive essential services, including substance abuse treatment and mental health services.
- Attend regular CARES training sessions to stay updated on DHS regulations.
- Develop and conduct client activities and workshops to promote engagement and skill-building.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field, with 2-3 years of experience in residential counseling services.
- At least one year of supervisory experience is required.
- Ability to work with at-risk populations, including domestic violence survivors, clients with medical and mental health issues, and the chronically homeless.
