Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Education Support Specialist - One to One to join our team at Cora Howe School in Nashville. As an integral member of our instructional support staff, you will work closely with certified teachers and other educational professionals to provide individualized support to students with special needs.

About the Role

This full-time position involves working directly with students, assisting with lesson plans, monitoring student behavior and academic progress, and collaborating with teachers to ensure consistent communication with parents and guardians. Your expertise in adapting classroom activities and providing one-on-one instruction will be invaluable in helping our students achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to students with special needs, including assistance with daily living skills, academic tasks, and behavioral management.
  • Work collaboratively with certified teachers to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt classroom activities to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, including behavioral data and academic achievements.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and guardians to ensure seamless collaboration and share information about student progress.
  • Attend professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with special needs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree in an applicable field or 48 hours of college credit from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of the TN Para Pro Assessment.
  • Prior experience working with children is preferred.
Working Conditions

This role requires regular attendance and punctuality, as well as the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in all situations. You will be required to operate standard office equipment and use pertinent software applications. The ideal candidate will have basic computer skills and be proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.

Estimated Salary Range

$43,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
