About the Role

Homeless Children's Network is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing mental health consultation and support to vulnerable communities, promoting healthy social and emotional development in young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mental health consultation to staff and programs, focusing on early childhood development and trauma-informed care.
  • Develop and implement training programs for staff on mental health-related topics, including implicit bias and cultural competence.
  • Conduct mental health consultations with children ages 0-5, including individual, family, and group sessions.
  • Referrals and case management for families in need of additional support.
  • Collaborate with community partners to establish a standard of care for early childhood mental health services.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Registered with the Board of Behavioral Science or active in the registration process.
  • License-eligible or licensed in California.
  • Experience working with BIPOC families and communities, with a focus on early childhood development.
  • Knowledge of issues related to homelessness and domestic violence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
