Our Pharmacist Intern program is a 10-week full-time opportunity for upcoming pharmacists to gain hands-on experience in a rapidly evolving marketplace of ideas, products, and services.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with care providers, physicians, and office staff via phone calls and faxes to discuss upcoming Prescription Drug List (PDL) changes that may impact their patients
  • Document provider feedback and consult with senior clinical pharmacists on treatment, drug efficacy, or authorization status
  • Shadow UHC pharmacists to gain a deeper understanding of the various roles they have within the UHCP team
  • Collaborate with analytics team to ensure outreach file is up to date
  • Work with individuals from the various pharmacy team to support affordability and quality initiatives
  • Create Quick Reference Guides on disease states for providers using clinical guidelines and primary literature
  • Work with the clinical team to review clinical programs, supply limits, and assess new to market and/or pipeline drugs
  • Ad-hoc projects supporting the UHCP team


Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Doctor of Pharmacy program, with first year completed before start of the internship
  • Active licensure as a pharmacist intern in the state of Minnesota
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Completion of at least one Therapeutics Course
  • Solid understanding of medical and pharmacy terminology
  • Experience in retail or home delivery pharmacy settings
