Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Leadership Expert to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our Sustainable Infrastructure division, you will play a critical role in managing construction-centric activities across strategic projects.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective execution of cost estimates, project schedules, and compliance with customer expectations. This will involve collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to maintain profitability, customer satisfaction, and efficient project management while fostering community relations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage construction-focused activities from early in the sales cycle through post-construction operations hand-off
  • Lead the project development team and assist the sales team to prepare customer deliverables
  • Develop and maintain a direct approach to meeting the customer's needs, including financial, construction-related, utility-based, energy savings, or otherwise
  • Responsible for all project costing and the project execution approach and plan for each opportunity
  • Staff projects with labor and subcontractors to complete the contracted scope of work
  • Manage project management resources, including training, coaching, and performance management
  • Provide client C-level single point of contact for program management

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Project/Construction Management
  • PMP Design Build Institute of America (DBIA), LEED certification, preferred
  • 5-10 years of construction management experience
  • Deep understanding of as a Service (aaS) delivery model and multiple contract structures/financial structures associated with them
  • Project size in excess of $25M
  • Strong proficiency in software scheduling tools and applications
  • High-level project management process competencies
  • Ability to manage conceptual design as projects are not yet fully engineered
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Negotiation skills and ability to lead, develop, and coach people at different levels

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is estimated to be around $120,000-$180,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
