Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacist to join our Ambulatory Oncology team on a per diem basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding team members in the daily operations of the Pharmacy Department, ensuring efficient and timely service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate daily operations of the Pharmacy Department.
  • Coordinate workflow to facilitate efficient and timely delivery of pharmaceutical services and maintain safe dispensing practices.
  • Prepare, assess, and distribute work schedules.
  • Report schedule discrepancies to management.
  • Select, prepare, and dispense drug products to fill inpatient and outpatient prescriptions.
  • Maintain inventory and records of investigational drugs, control substances, and methadone.
  • Manufacture, prepare, and label compounds, solutions, and other sterile products.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new programs to meet departmental goals and improve services.
  • Conduct pre-admission/discharge patient medication interviews, as required.
  • Review patient charts and nursing medications charting documents to maintain accurate patient profiles.
  • Ensure drugs are reordered as per hospital policy and procedure.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy required.
  • Current License to practice as a Pharmacist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • IV Infusion experience.
  • Adult Oncology Experience.
